This is the second home we have bought with Heather leading the way. We first used her when buying our "starter home" in 2012 and now, our significantly better house. She also sold our house this time around. I was going to leave a glowing review of how amazing she did with all of these transactions. None of them were easy with this most recent transaction being particularly unusual. Instead, I think it would be more useful to describe what you get when you hire Heather.
First of all, her professionalism. Heather is extremely knowledgeable. Her ability to lead you through the entire buying/purchasing process is simply astounding. We knew nothing about real estate when we first purchased our house (which incidentally was a HUD auction foreclosure). Like most first time home buyers, we were scared of the process. With Heather, you immediately feel like someone has your back and you quickly learn that you can trust that she is 100% looking out for your best interests. Buying and selling a home is stressful enough but that trust – knowing that you have someone who is professional, knowledgeable, thorough and assertive – makes it so much easier. I don’t know when she eats, I don’t think she sleeps and I certainly doubt that she ever takes a vacation. She is available and responsive 24 hours a day and she spends so much time on you that you feel like it’s not possible for her to have any clients other than you. When we decided to upgrade to our new home and sell the other, we knew we would be calling Heather. Incidentally, this most recent purchase involved only a 17-day contingency period which meant we had to put in our offer on the new house we found (a backup offer which she negotiated to get us moved to the front of the line), photograph and list our house and then sell it at a substantial profit, ALL WITHIN 6 days! Done and done. Because of Heather.
Second, along with Heather the agent, you also get Heather the person. Heather is kind and has an enormous heart. She has integrity and a great moral compass. Most importantly, she is calm. Until, that is, someone does anything to try and screw her client. At that point, she becomes a Grade-A asskicker. You can’t BS Heather. She won’t stand for it. She is tough and will fight for her client until the end. Not only will she do everything in her power to keep others in line and on schedule, she’ll also do everything she can to protect you from yourself. Things come up in real estate transactions that are upsetting or frustrating and she won’t let you make bad decisions in those moments. Again, this comes down to trust. If you trust that Heather has your back, she won’t let you down. You’re not a dollar sign to her. She actually cares about you and your family.
For both my wife and I, Heather transcends the role of “real estate agent” and has crossed over to into the role of a friend. We’re so thankful we found her 4 years ago and would never consider using anyone else in the future.
